“A recent surge in US mortgage rates has pushed affordability to the lowest level in nearly four decades. For house hunters, waiting for any relief is a risky gamble.
It’s been a hard lesson. Last year’s slowdown brought a brief respite from the price gains of the pandemic boom but that’s now vanished, with home values recovering the nearly $3 trillion they’d lost.
Now, one measure of borrowing costs has climbed to a level not seen in more than two decades, and the Federal Reserve has indicated it may hike rates further, raising the risk that mortgage rates may push toward 8%.
‘The resilience of the economy and the consumer has confounded a lot of people,’ said Melissa Cohn, regional vice president at William Raveis Mortgage.
‘At the beginning of this year, people were predicting that the Fed would actually be cutting rates by the end of the year, but the economy has withstood this higher-rate environment.’”
THINGS TO PONDER:
This isn’t as rosy as Melissa Cohn would have you believe…
What she’s not saying is that the runaway cost of living in a flailing economy makes it incredibly difficult to afford to eat, let alone buy a house.
Can some people still afford to buy? Sure they can… it’s like that in every economic downturn…
What’s being missed is that the number of people that CAN’T is rising more quickly.
The solution for this in modern economics?

“Congressional leaders are pitching a stopgap government funding package to avoid a federal shutdown after next month, acknowledging the House and Senate are nowhere near agreement on spending levels to keep federal operations running.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy raised the idea of a months-long funding package, known as a continuing resolution, to House Republicans on a members-only call Monday evening, according to those familiar with the private session and granted anonymity to discuss it.
On Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said the two leaders had spoken about such a temporary measure. It would extend federal funding operations into December to allow more time to work on the annual spending bills.
‘We hope that our House Republicans will realize that any funding resolution has to be bipartisan or they will risk shutting down the government,’ said Schumer.
A stopgap measure that would keep government offices running past the Sept. 30 end of the fiscal year is a typical strategy while the Republican-held House and Democrat-held Senate try to iron out a long-term budget agreement. The government’s new fiscal year begins on Oct. 1, when funding approval is needed to avert closures of federal offices.
But this year, the task may prove more politically difficult. McCarthy will need to win over a large portion of his Republican colleagues to pass the stopgap bill or risk political blowback from staunch conservatives if he leaves them behind and cuts a bipartisan deal with Democrats.

“There you go again…” - President Ronald Reagan.
In the May 1st edition of Ripped From The Headlines, we shared the following:
“Everything’s Fine… We’re Just Going To Run Out Of Money… NOW.”
Treasury Secretary, Janet Yellen… the gift that keeps on giving…
Like a virus.
We won’t beat this horse to death, as we’ve covered Yellen’s magical flip-flopping before (you can Click Here and Here to read more) but we have to point out here that the Federal government-powered SMU (S*!t Made Up) bus is rapidly approaching a brick wall.
If you take nothing else away from the news today, this should give you pause:
Since hitting the current statutory limit of $31.4 trillion in January, the Treasury has been staving off a possible default on federal obligations by using special accounting maneuvers. Yellen’s new timeline reflects the department’s latest thinking on when that headroom is likely to be exhausted.
“Special accounting maneuvers…”
That’s YOUR money being wasted friends…
Know. Your. Foe.
90+ days later, we’re back to it all over again…
The government is going to shut down because they run operations in such a way that, if we did the same, we would be put in jail.
Yet, they keep grifting… and grifting… and grifting.
Know Your Foe.
“Joe Biden's transgender health secretary has praised an Alaska gender-affirming care clinic which wants the word 'mother' replaced with the phrase 'egg producer.'
Dr Rachel Levine, 65, is the highest ranking openly transgender federal official in the country - and has long endorsed providing gender-affirming care to minors, arguing that the treatment is 'lifesaving.'
Levine visited Identity Alaska - a nonprofit community center that provides resources and health care for the 'LGBTQIA2S+' community which stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, asexual, and two spirit.
She said, according to Fox News: 'These inspiring people work tirelessly to create a more equitable future, where all those living in the U.S. have equal access to lifesaving medical care.'
The health secretary, who grew up male, underwent puberty as a man, attended medical school, got married and became a father before deciding to transition.
The Alaska-based company she visited promotes ideas that children should learn that doctors 'assign' gender to babies by making a 'guess' - while also promoting the use of 'gender-inclusive biology.'
Teachers and educators need to speak to children 'without assuming that there are only two sexes and that everyone within a particular sex is the same.'
Instead of using the word 'mother' in these conversations, they recommend using terms such as 'egg producer' or 'carrier.'
THINGS TO PONDER:
Our sister publication,
has covered the war on women extensively, including the moves by people like Mr. Levine to blur gender lines to push an agenda that’s dangerous to young people. The fact that the term mother is in any discussion about being excluded is a testament to how far the US has fallen as an example to the world.
Have you taken a look at media or discussions outside of the US to see how they are looking at this?
If not, you should. It’s not pretty.
It’s going to take the voice of strong men to neutralize this threat. Now that you Know Your Foe, it’s TIME TO TAKE ACTION.

None of this is good. YET, ALL OF THIS IS INTENTIONAL!!
Why Should I Care?
The government is on the brink of falling apart, people can’t afford to live, and the idea that men are women is mainstream.
You should care.
What Should I Do?
Start thinking about the basics that people will need, and look at those things as potential avenues to protect yourself and as an investment.
Do you know why Berkshire Hathaway’s stock is so expensive?
They touch 90% of your life every day, and you don’t even realize it. That’s inflation/deflation/recession/depression insurance. You’ll still need toilet paper and toothpaste.
You should also tell as many people as you can about what’s happening. Don’t leave people behind while we still have a window to help them.
