“Vast swaths of the United States are at risk of running short of power as electricity-hungry data centers and clean-technology factories proliferate around the country, leaving utilities and regulators grasping for credible plans to expand the nation’s creaking power grid.
In Georgia, demand for industrial power is surging to record highs, with the projection of electricity use for the next decade now 17 times what it was only recently. Arizona Public Service, the largest utility in that state, is also struggling to keep up, projecting it will be out of transmission capacity before the end of the decade absent major upgrades.
Northern Virginia needs the equivalent of several large nuclear power plants to serve all the new data centers planned and under construction. Texas, where electricity shortages are already routine on hot summer days, faces the same dilemma.
The soaring demand is touching off a scramble to try to squeeze more juice out of an aging power grid while pushing commercial customers to go to extraordinary lengths to lock down energy sources, such as building their own power plants.
‘When you look at the numbers, it is staggering,’ said Jason Shaw, chairman of the Georgia Public Service Commission, which regulates electricity. ‘It makes you scratch your head and wonder how we ended up in this situation. How were the projections that far off? This has created a challenge like we have never seen before.’”
THINGS TO PONDER:
Just in time for the acceleration of the “poly-crisis,” energy fears.
Not that this hasn’t been an issue for a while… just search Ripped From The Headlines for “electric grid” to get caught up…
The bigger issue right now is some of the language being used by, of all publications, The Washington Post.
When you see something like this:
“When you look at the numbers, it is staggering,’ said Jason Shaw, chairman of the Georgia Public Service Commission, which regulates electricity. ‘It makes you scratch your head and wonder how we ended up in this situation. How were the projections that far off? This has created a challenge like we have never seen before.”
And like this:
The soaring demand is touching off a scramble to try to squeeze more juice out of an aging power grid while pushing commercial customers to go to extraordinary lengths to lock down energy sources, such as building their own power plant.”
Make it into mainstream media, you know that it’s bad.
The advice to heed here is to prepare…
Commercial energy customers are looking at building their own power plants… you should do the same.

“The mass US layoffs of the past few years are continuing. In 2024 alone, thousands of workers across many sectors, including media and technology, have lost their jobs and are on the hunt for new ones. But some are finding an unwelcome surprise as they scan listings for open roles. A salary bump is all but impossible; in many cases, wages seem lower than their previous pay – even for the same jobs.
They aren't imagining things. A 2023 report on pay trends from ZipRecruiter showed 48% of 2,000 US companies surveyed lowered pay for certain roles.
But, say experts, companies aren't necessarily just seizing a moment in a tight job market to reduce costs. In some cases, stagnant and even lowered salaries are the result of an overdue reset for a pandemic-era surge in compensation when companies were scrambling to fill roles during the Great Resignation.
The tightening labor market has left US workers with fewer options than just years earlier. Beginning in 2020, employers boosted salaries to new heights to attract talent to a deluge of open roles. But amid an uncertain economy, employers have pulled back from new hires and cut jobs.
‘There is now less competition to hire workers – and therefore less need to boost wages,’ says Nick Bunker, US-based director of North American Economic Research at Indeed. ‘Job postings have dropped quite a bit, while the supply of workers has grown.’"
THINGS TO PONDER:
So much for that booming economy, eh?
Think about all of the times over the last few years that you heard about how good things were… while the price of everything went up, and you had to blow through your savings and credit cards to keep your head above water…
And how Joe Biden said salaries were rising…
Not so much.
The landing isn’t going to be soft.
Brace For Impact.

“An activist group in California has paid nearly 100 public high schoolers $1,400 each to learn how to fight for racial and social justice, The Free Press has learned.
Contracts between Long Beach Unified School District and Californians for Justice from 2019 to 2023, exclusively obtained by The Free Press, show the school district used taxpayer funds to pay the group nearly $2 million to facilitate equity and leadership development training for students and teachers. In addition to the student stipends, the contracts also allocated a total of $20,200 to 13 parents for participating in the group’s programs.
Starting from December 2019 until now, the Long Beach Unified School District south of Los Angeles has paid at least 78 students a total of nearly $100,000 for participating in a club run by the organization, also known as CFJ. The most recent contract runs until June 2024.
The money incentivizes students to participate in CFJ’s programs—which are led by CFJ staff, not the district. In a recent video posted to the group’s Instagram account, one student, who was asked ‘Why Should Students Join CFJ?’ responded ‘You get paid good.’ It’s unclear which students are eligible for the stipends, but the organization’s website states its ‘leadership development’ programs operate ‘with a focus on low income youth, youth of color, LGBTQ youth, foster youth, and immigrant youth.’”
THINGS TO PONDER:
Never forget: It’s all about the money, honey.
And it’s being weaponized…
Sadly, this isn’t about “racial and social justice…” it’s about indoctrination, period.
Targeting young people who are already at risk and don’t know any better with the promise of family/safety/money is exactly what gangs do…
Why reinvent the wheel when you don’t have to, right?
Well, Californians for Justice is now on our radar… put them on yours as well, and keep your eyes open for others.
Know Your Foe.
Issues with critters? Sick of using things that can easily make you sick or kill you?
Dr. Killigan’s is THE all-natural solution. Check out what a customer had to say about their “Six Feet Under” non-toxic insect spray:
I bought this to get rid of the ants that built a nest in my flagstone patio and sidewalk. I have granddaughters and pets, and I didn't want to use chemicals that could make them sick if they were exposed. I've used other natural pesticides in the past with mild success but this stuff definitely does the trick! I've only had to spray one time over a month ago...still no sign of the ants returning. 10/10, will be purchasing more.”
