“California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed legislation into law on Wednesday that will limit the ability of local governments to manually count ballots less than a year after one northern county’s governing board ditched its contract with Dominion Voting Systems and decided to tabulate results by hand.
Set to go into effect immediately, the law deals a blow to Shasta County’s conservative-majority Board of Supervisors, which voted 3-2 in January to cancel its contract with Dominion amid a flurry of unsubstantiated conspiracy theories about the company in the wake of the 2020 election, leaving it without a way to conduct elections for a time.
In response, state legislators introduced and overwhelmingly passed AB 969 in September, which allows hand-counting under narrow circumstances: during regularly scheduled elections in places with under 1,000 registered voters and special elections with fewer than 5,000 voters. It will also block counties from canceling contracts for voting systems in the future without a transition plan and a finalized agreement for a new state-approved system.
A spokesperson with the governor’s office said that Newsom was proud to sign the legislation, adding that it wasn’t about preventing hand counting when localities need it, such as during recounts or mandated post-election audits, but rather about ensuring timely, accurate and efficient results in the state’s elections.
‘It's not just impractical to hand-count, but it harms the election process. It will cost more and slow down our election results significantly,’ Erin Mellon, the governor’s communication director, said. ‘Unfounded conspiracy theories have undermined our elections. California is focused on ensuring free and fair elections.’
THINGS TO PONDER:
Just in case you weren’t aware of the looney-tunes level you’re currently at in America, here you go…
Would it surprise you to know that THE ENTIRE NATION OF FRANCE (population 50 million) uses hand-counting and THE ENTIRE NATION gets all the votes counted and a winner gets declared all on the same day?
Click Here to read the article about it from AP News.
Here’s what really stuck out to us about France, which happens to have about 12 million more people than California does:
Mail-in voting was banned in 1975 amid fears of potential fraud.
Machine-voting was allowed as an experiment starting in 2002, but the purchase of new machines has been frozen since 2008 due to security concerns. Only a few dozen towns still use them.
Last year, Macron’s centrist government tried to pass an amendment to allow early voting by machine to encourage electoral participation amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The Senate, led by a conservative majority, rejected the measure, arguing it was announced with too little notice and was not solid enough legally.
So, what’s California’s excuse? Here you go:
‘It's not just impractical to hand-count, but it harms the election process. It will cost more and slow down our election results significantly,’ Erin Mellon, the governor’s communication director, said. ‘Unfounded conspiracy theories have undermined our elections. “U.S. politics continue to be a chaotic subject, and a new poll finds the majority of Americans are rapidly losing faith in their country’s leaders.
From the ousting of the Speaker of the House to the mounting controversies engulfing the current president and his predecessor, over seven in 10 people say there’s no one they trust to save them from an end-of-the-world event. Such problems only push the so-called “Doomsday Clock” to tick closer to end times.
Established in 1947 by a group of atomic scientists, including the revered Albert Einstein, the Doomsday Clock serves as a barometer for humanity’s proximity to global annihilation. It is a metaphorical measure of humanity’s vulnerability to cataclysmic events, such as nuclear war, climate change, pandemics, or asteroid impacts. The closer the clock’s hands are to midnight, the closer we presumably are to a doomsday scenario.
According to a survey of 6,200 Americans conducted by BonusFinder.com, 71.2 percent of Americans say they have no faith in the U.S. government to save them or prevent a doomsday event. Even more unnerving, many respondents believe Doomsday could come within the next year.
Over half the poll (55.8%) think Doomsday will come in the form of a climate change-related catastrophe, while a third believe another virus will sweep the globe and a quarter of respondents fear the start of World War III.
THINGS TO PONDER:
As we shared in yesterday’s edition of Ripped From The Headlines, if everything is so good, why are 71% of people in a survey saying they have no faith in the federal government to actually do one of the things it’s supposed to do?
Because things ain’t good…
And now, you’re starting to see the cracks.
This survey is a microcosm of the bigger issue with the UNITED STATES, with our economy and infrastructure falling apart, and the heavy feeling that more bad things are about to happen.
As we move into 2024, look for this bumpy ride to get even bumpier.
Get prepared and Brace For Impact.

“As the White House continues to tout the alleged achievements of the president’s "Bidenomics" agenda, a growing amount of data indicates that a gigantic economic crisis could be right around the corner.
If the White House and Congress do not cut inflation-causing government spending soon, the results could be catastrophic.
In 2020, during the height of the coronavirus government lockdowns, President Donald Trump and the Democratic-led Congress spent vast amounts of money to keep the economy, financial system and stock market afloat. Trillions of dollars in additional government spending occurred, all of which was financed with debt and money printing.
When President Biden entered the White House in January 2021, it appeared that the economic crisis caused by the pandemic lockdowns would end soon. A COVID-19 vaccine had been developed, and many states had already started re-opening or preparing to re-open their economies.
But rather than return spending to normal levels, Biden and congressional Democrats – with the blessing of the Federal Reserve – opted to keep government expenditures significantly higher than they had been prior to the pandemic.
The decision to continue high levels of government spending, coupled with the Fed’s choice to keep interest rates low and the fallout from the crisis in Ukraine, caused inflation to soar to levels not experienced in four decades. Prices for nearly all consumer items, from eggs and milk to gasoline, skyrocketed.

This publication won’t lie to you to make money…
The economy has not been good, nor is it good or strong right now…
That’s an illusion, propped up by a government that’s scared to death of you waking up to their BS.
