“The Senate passed an amendment banning federal mask mandates on commercial airlines and public transportation in an appropriations bill Wednesday.
In a 59-38 vote, senators — including several Democrats — voted in favor of the amendment brought forth by Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, which restricts any federal funds from being used to enforce mask mandates on passenger flights, trains, transit buses, and other publicly funded transportation through the next fiscal year.
Vance called the passage ‘a massive victory for personal freedom’ in a statement Wednesday.
‘We saw countless abuses of authority throughout the COVID pandemic, and the American people were justifiably enraged by unscientific mask mandates,’ he said.
Democrat Sens. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, Jacky Rosen of Nevada, Jon Tester of Montana, Sherrod Brown of Ohio, Michael Bennet of Colorado, Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin, Tim Kaine of Virginia and Mark Kelly of Arizona voted in favor of the amendment.
THINGS TO PONDER:
When the people take the process of governance seriously, their public servants do what they were sent to Washington DC to do.
This is long overdue, but great to see.
What this means for you is that you need to continue to apply pressure to those whom you send to represent your interests…
Every. Single. Day.
That’s how things change.

“World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom recently called for world governments to ‘follow through with national ratification’ of the WHO pandemic treaty after ‘disinformation’ eroded ‘trust between people, governments and institutions.’
Tedros made the comments at the tenth Nikkei FT Communicable Diseases Conference in Tokyo.
Dr. Tedros: Last month, the UN general assembly adapted a political declaration on Pandemic prevention, preparedness and response, underscoring their commitment to meet shared threats with a shared response. The COVID-19 pandemic upended lives and livelihoods, disrupting societies and economies, and exposed and exacerbated political fault lines within and between nations. It eroded trust between people, governments and institutions fueled by a torrent of myth and disinformation. And it laid bare the searing inequalities of our world with the poorest and most vulnerable communities the hardest hit.
The next pandemic is not a question of if, but of when, and we cannot afford to repeat the same mistake of the past. That’s why WHO member states are negotiating a new pandemic accord and amendments to the International Health Regulations to strengthen the legal framework for the global response to pandemics. And we can’t stop there. We must follow through with national ratification and accountable implementation.

“Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson has been accused of barring residents from a community meeting about controversial asylum seeker accommodation.
Video from Tuesday night shows dozens of people crowded outside Kelly High School unable to get inside with many taking up a chant of 'open the doors'.
Meanwhile inside the meeting quickly grew heated with some residents opposing the city's plan to turn a site in the Southwest Side neighborhood into a tent shelter for asylum seekers.
Cheers and boos erupted from the crowd, while outside, residents who had not been allowed in pounded on the doors.
They were there to discuss plans to construct a migrant 'basecamp' at a private lot at the intersection of West 38th Street and South California Avenue that would house as many as 2,000 people.
The deputy mayor for immigrant, migrant and refugee rights, Beatriz Ponce de Leon explained the camp is a short-term solution to the steady stream of migrants who have arrived in Chicago.
Ponce de Leon reportedly said: 'It is evident that it is not a safe place or humane way for people to live. Our number one priority right now, especially as winter is upon us, is to make sure that those 4,000 people have a place to be.'
The city has said it will be monitored by unarmed security, but local residents have expressed concern over safety risks.
Michael, who has lived in the area for six years, reportedly said: 'We have concerns about our students, our children, who walk down the street every day. How are we ensuring their safety?
'To commence construction without a word to us, that is not an oversight, it’s disrespect.'

No big deal for the mayor of Chicago though…
Because you get to deal with it while he grifts!
This isn’t going to end well.
