“The Empire State Building. The Statue of Liberty. Central Park. Times Square. A horde of rats sprinting between an underground nest and a restaurant, squeaking and squealing as a group of tourists cheer them on.
New York has never lacked for attractions, but that last one on the list is one of its most unexpected.
As the city grapples with a major rat problem – sightings doubled last year, prompting the mayor to advertise for a “somewhat bloodthirsty” head rat-catcher in December – the rodent issue is, according to some, New York’s latest must-experience trend.
As visitors to New York demand rat action, some of the city’s tour guides have started to add stops at notoriously infested sites, the New York Post reported this week.
It means that rat tourism is fast becoming a boom industry. Kenny Bollwerk, who built a TikTok following by posting videos from around New York, stumbled upon being a rodent guide when he spent ‘an hour or two’ live-streaming rats running around outside a building site in Sunnyside, Queens.
‘I was like: ‘Damn, this is bad,’ he said.
‘People are walking by, there’s rats running across people’s feet, there’s piles of trash on the sidewalk.’
‘I’ve had a daughter and father, and a husband and wife come with me. Anything you can think of: business owners have come out looking with me. There’ve been people from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania; St Louis, Missouri; Oklahoma City; Vancouver, Canada; Los Angeles.
‘It’s crazy how much this brings people together.”
THINGS TO PONDER:
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure…
In a country with a crumbling infrastructure, its biggest city is the poster child for mismanagement…
Including Mayor Eric Adams and his Labor Day weekend drone surveillance…
At Ripped From The Headlines, we continue to be amazed that “science and experts” can obsess over putting wombs in men’s bodies, but they can’t figure out how to efficiently run cities or stop invasive pests…
We thought “science settled things…”
Except ACTUALLY SOLVING PROBLEMS apparently.
Look for these problems to get way worse before they get better unless you speak up.

As Goodhue Police Chief Josh Smith struggled this summer to fill vacancies in his small department, he warned the town’s City Council that unless pay and benefits improved, finding new officers would never happen.
When nothing changed, Smith quit. So did his few remaining officers, leading the Minnesota town of 1,300 residents to shutter its police force in late August.
America is in the midst of a police officer shortage that many in law enforcement blame on the two-fold morale hit of 2020 — the coronavirus pandemic and criticism of police that boiled over with the murder of George Floyd by a police officer. From Minnesota to Maine, Ohio to Texas, small towns unable to fill jobs are eliminating their police departments and turning over police work to their county sheriff, a neighboring town or state police.
At the heart of the problem is the exodus from law enforcement. Officer resignations were up 47% last year compared to 2019 — the year before the pandemic and Floyd’s killing — and retirements are up 19%. That’s all according to a survey of nearly 200 police agencies by the Police Executive Research Forum, a Washington, DC-based think tank. Though the survey represents only agencies affiliated with PERF, a fraction of the more than 18,000 law enforcement agencies nationwide, and is not representative of all departments, it’s one of the few efforts to examine police hiring and retention and compare it with the time before Floyd’s killing.
Compounding the exodus of veteran officers, young people are increasingly unwilling to go through the months of training necessary to become a police officer, said Chuck Wexler, executive director of the Police Executive Research Forum.
‘Fewer people are applying to be police officers, and more officers are retiring or resigning at a tremendous rate,’ Wexler said. ‘There’s a shortage of police officers across the country.’”
THINGS TO PONDER:
This ain’t good… no matter how much people who dislike the police think that it is…
What’s going to happen when those who are being contracted to fill the gap run out of people to do it?
Without order, there is chaos…
And we’ve seen what that leads to over the last 3 years…
When you combine this with the increasing anger and anxiety of the American public, this is a powder keg waiting for a spark… and opens the door for a type of totalitarian surveillance that you don’t want…
Brace For Impact.

More than half of Centers for Disease Control (CDC) staff go on to work for big pharma, a first-of-its-kind report has found.
The research suggested that 54 percent of CDC government workers moved into the private sector between 2004 and 2020.
Over a third of people appointed to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) leave to take jobs in the healthcare private sector, as do 53 percent of employees at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Researchers from the University of Southern California and Harvard University have called to expand federal 'cooling off' laws — which prohibit former government employees from immediately lobbying on behalf of private organizations.
They said the 'revolving door' between federal workers and private healthcare companies has made government agencies vulnerable to corruption.
Currently, ex-employees must wait one year after leaving the CDC before 'any communication to or appearance before any officer or employee of their former agency on behalf of anyone seeking official action.'
This was set up to prevent people from 'switching sides' on a matter they worked on during their government role.
But the new report says the laws don't go far enough.
The researchers looked at the career histories of 766 people appointed to HHS between 2004 and 2020 who occupied political appointments, including agency heads, senior-level administrators and their aides.”
THINGS TO PONDER:
More government grift and revolving doors… we’re shocked!
This is what it looks like:
Just take the grift you need on either side of the fence, and move back and forth whenever needed…
The question now is… how long will you let them get away with it?
Know Your Foe.
This isn’t going to end well. Know Your Foe.
Did you realize that even something like a solar flare can knock out your electronics? Or kill your car?
Yes, you could be partying like it’s 1859 in the snap of a finger…

Your future depends on it.
What does this mean?
Things aren’t going to end well if you don’t take action.
But, here’s what’s different this time… multiple people are saying that exact same thing from a number of different angles, and in different places.
One of the things we often say is to watch what successful people do, & do what they do, AND then watch what unsuccessful people do, and don’t do what they do…
Most of them are already out of the line of fire for social unrest or economic collapse…
How do you think they see things ending up?
Why should I care?
When was the last time you checked on your “go-to’s”:
*Your go-to investment?
*Your go-to safety net?
*Your go-to emergency plan?
If it’s been a while, here’s some bad news: They probably might not work anymore.
That means you’re behind in planning for rough times.
You should care.
What should I do?
Take a moment… right now if you can… to take inventory of what you’re seeing in this newsletter each day.
