“Banks Are Devising Ways to ID Mass Shooters Before They Strike”
”Banks are developing technology to identify potential mass shooters, according to a CEO backing the push to get credit-card companies to more closely track gun purchases.
'Detection scenarios' are in the works that, if triggered, would prompt banks to file a Suspicious Activity Report to the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, Amalgamated Bank Chief Executive Officer Priscilla Sims Brown said at the New York Times DealBook conference Wednesday.
‘We’re at the very early stages of this -- this particular code just got approved in October, so those detection scenarios are still being brought together,’ Brown said. ‘But as this is implemented, those scenarios will be used.’
The strategy would mirror ways banks try to identify and stop fraudsters from using customers’ funds.
The International Organization for Standardization approved a new merchant category code earlier this year that banks will use when processing transactions for gun and ammunition stores after Amalgamated submitted an application on the matter. Gun-control advocates were quick to celebrate the move, arguing it would help banks flag suspicious activity at these retailers.”
“The Smallest US Businesses Are Laying Off the Most Workers”
”Layoffs and discharges are starting to pile up at America’s smallest firms.
Some 305,000 workers lost their jobs in October at businesses with less than 10 employees, according to data released Wednesday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That’s up by 137,000 from the previous month. It was the biggest change in any of the firm-size categories broken out by the BLS.
Now, amid signs the economy is slowing, many firms are expected to try to hold onto their workers -- since it’s been a struggle to find talent since the pandemic hit. But that’s harder for the smallest firms, which lack the financial buffers to absorb blows such as weaker consumer demand or higher borrowing costs.”
“San Francisco will allow police to deploy robots that kill”
“Supervisors in San Francisco voted Tuesday to give city police the ability to use potentially lethal, remote-controlled robots in emergency situations -- following an emotionally charged debate that reflected divisions on the politically liberal board over support for law enforcement.
The vote was 8-3, with the majority agreeing to grant police the option despite strong objections from civil liberties and other police oversight groups. Opponents said the authority would lead to the further militarization of a police force already too aggressive with poor and minority communities.
Supervisor Connie Chan, a member of the committee that forwarded the proposal to the full board, said she understood concerns over use of force but that ‘according to state law, we are required to approve the use of these equipments. So here we are, and it’s definitely not an easy discussion.’”
Wild Wednesday, Ripped From The Headlines - Things To Ponder:
So many people thought, “What could go wrong with classifying card purchases of firearms?”
Just ask Amalgamated Bank Chief Executive Officer Priscilla Sims Brown.
She’s backing the push to get credit-card companies to more closely track gun purchases as a “detection scenario” for potential “mass shooters”.
I’m sure you know how that will end up, right?
We were told that the “layoffs from the tech industry wouldn’t impact the greater economy…”
But, as we shared yesterday, we know that’s not the case. Now, the real truth appears to be coming out.
Well over 90% of the jobs in the US are provided by “mom & pop shops.” If they can’t afford to keep people, what’s next?
Click here to get an idea.
How about San Francisco city Supervisors going back on their word about those killer robots, eh?
This quote should give you chills:
“according to state law, we are required to approve the use of these equipments. So here we are, and it’s definitely not an easy discussion.”
Wow.
We live in the future… and it doesn’t look too good.
What Does This Mean?
Your purchases are being tracked in a WHOLE NEW WAY.
Don’t think that this stops at firearms purchases… as we’ve shared before, this is another entry way into a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) and a social credit score.
Basically, you could commit a crime and have no idea that you did, until you’re suddenly picked up by law enforcement, or unable to buy, sell, or travel.
This also means that small businesses in the US are on the brink of mass failure, which would cripple the free market.
And, you may be “policed” by robots if that pilot program takes off in San Francisco.
Click Here for a sneak peak at what that looks like.
Not good… at all.
